Turkish Neonatal Society, is a non-governmental organization, established to accelerate the professional development of medical staff working in the field of Neonatology in Turkey. The primary aims of Turkish Neonatal Society are to inform families of newborns, to raise social awareness by prevention of neonatal diseases and to follow up recent developments in the diagnosis and treatment of neonates. After the first establishment at Hacettepe University in 1989, many educational activities have been carried out with publications. Therefore, it gained attention in the social field, Neonatology Society has continued to work in cooperation with other associations as a member of the Coordination Board of the Turkish National Union of Experts.
On July 15, 1998, the society was named as "Turkish Neonatal Society" by the decision of the Council of Ministers. With this decision, Turkish Neonatal Society, that aims to reduce the neonatal deaths and keep them alive without any sequela in Turkey, has gained the right to become a national association and to represent Turkey in the field of neonatology with Turkish Neonatal Society’s own neonatologists.

Mission:
The mission of Turkish Neonatal Society is to facilitate all Neonatology Services in clinical practice, education, research and professional development areas in Turkey in an excellent manner.
Vision:
To promote Turkey to be one of the leading societies in the field of neonatology in the world.
